Gautam Gambhir: No Cricket with Pakistan Amid Tensions
Gautam Gambhir, India's head coach, believes cricket with Pakistan should cease, even at neutral venues, following a militant attack in Kashmir. The two countries only meet in multi-team tournaments, and Gambhir urges the government and BCCI to make the final decision on future games.

In the wake of a recent militant attack in Indian Kashmir, India head coach Gautam Gambhir has expressed his stance against engaging in cricket with Pakistan, whether on home soil or neutral venues. His sentiments echo the broader tension, as the two nations engage in limited cricketing interaction since 2013.
Following the attack, India responded with airstrikes on nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistani-held Kashmir, further straining the fragile relations between the two cricket-obsessed countries. Despite the high demand and instant sellouts of matches between the arch-rivals, Gambhir believes personal and national security should take precedence.
The decision on whether to play Pakistan ultimately rests with India's BCCI and the government, according to Gambhir. Meanwhile, instances like Neeraj Chopra withdrawing his invitation to Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem highlight the ongoing sensitivities affecting sports diplomacy.
