Legendary Return: 'Mr Dakar' Revives Racing Legacy with Defender
Stephane Peterhansel, also known as 'Mr Dakar,' is set to return to the Dakar Rally next year at age 60, driving for Jaguar Land Rover's Defender. The veteran, with 14 Dakar wins, looks forward to competing in production-based vehicles, marking his 36th career Dakar start.

Stephane Peterhansel, famously nicknamed 'Mr Dakar,' will make a return to the demanding Dakar Rally next year at the age of 60, reinforcing his legacy as a top competitor in rallying. He will represent Jaguar Land Rover's Defender brand in the race set in Saudi Arabia next January.
The seasoned French driver, who secures the record for the most wins with 14 victories, did not participate this year following Audi's withdrawal. However, he is geared up to compete in the Stock category for production-based vehicles, aiming for another prestigious title.
Peterhansel has a storied Dakar career, initially dominating on motorcycles before transitioning to cars in 1999. Now, he eyes success with Defender, expressing excitement over the new challenge and the potential for victory. Additionally, Defender prepares its team with Lithuania's Rokas Baciuska, with announcements for further team members to follow.
