The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has obtained government approval to host an IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala. However, the May 11 fixture has been relocated to Mumbai due to security concerns near the India-Pakistan border, with a new date pending.

BCCI sources later confirmed to ANI the shift in location was necessary as airlines have suspended operations across 11 northern Indian cities due to recent developments. This includes major urban centers like Srinagar, Jammu, and Chandigarh, prompting PBKS to reconsider its home match venues.

The match change aligns with a major military undertaking by Indian forces, labelled Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps in Pakistan and PoJK. In the most significant military action within Pakistani territory since 1971, Indian forces successfully struck nine locations to neutralize top terror leaders, enhancing regional security.
