On May 7, 2025, Indian football team head coach Manolo Marquez unveiled the 28-member probables squad set to congregate in Kolkata on May 18. This preparation targets the FIFA International window in June, as India gears up for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Final Round qualifiers.

India, placed in Group C with Bangladesh, Hong Kong China, and Singapore, will engage in a home-and-away round robin format, according to the AIFF official website. The Blue Tigers face a crucial challenge against Hong Kong China, away, on June 10 at Kai Tak Sports Park in Kowloon City.

Prior matches in Group C ended in stalemates, leaving each team with one point. To prepare for the Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong, India will hold a 10-day training camp in Kolkata before heading to Bangkok. There, they will compete in a FIFA International Friendly against Thailand on June 4, before proceeding to Hong Kong.
