Arunachal Pradesh Welcomes South Asian U-19 Football Championship
Four out of five participating countries in the South Asian Football Federation U-19 Championships arrived in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. This marks the state's first international tournament. The event is set to run from May 9-18, with teams from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Maldives, plus hosts India.

In an exciting prelude to the South Asian Football Federation U-19 Championships, four of the five participating nations have arrived in Arunachal Pradesh's capital, Itanagar, on Wednesday. The remaining team, Maldives, is expected to join by Thursday, as confirmed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
This sporting event marks a significant milestone for Arunachal Pradesh, as it hosts its inaugural international tournament. Running from May 9 to 18, the championship will see fierce competition among teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Maldives.
AIFF Treasurer and Arunachal Pradesh Football Association Secretary, Kipa Ajay, greeted the players, emphasizing a successful tournament inspired by learnings from the 2024 Santosh Trophy. SAFF General Secretary, Purushottam Kattel, expressed confidence in the event's organization, anticipating a remarkable championship.
