Sunil Jojo, at just 22, is taking a significant step forward in his hockey career as he joins the Senior Men's National Coaching Camp in Bengaluru. Originating from Rourkela, Jojo has already made a name for himself, having represented India twice at the Junior Hockey World Cup and contributing to a bronze-medal finish at the Sultan of Johor Cup.

Jojo admits that adapting to the game's speed and physicality at this level is challenging. "The pace is very quick, and there's a notable change in skill level," he shared, according to a Hockey India release. Despite these challenges, Jojo remains committed to self-improvement, focusing on enhancing his stamina and endurance.

Training alongside Indian hockey icon Manpreet Singh, Jojo is keen to absorb the skills and experience that come with such exposure. "I want to be a regular part of the Indian team and compete in all major tournaments," Jojo expressed. Recently acquired by UP Rudras in the revived Hero Hockey India League, Jojo values the learning experiences over match play. He recognizes mental focus as a key ingredient for success, alongside his physical training.

Coming from Odisha's robust hockey culture, Jojo also balances his sport with supporting his family, drawing pride from his employment with Southeastern Railways. "Supporting my family is important to me, as they have been my backbone," he added.
