Varun Chakaravarthy Penalized for On-field Conduct

In a recent IPL match, Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakaravarthy found himself in hot water after breaching the tournament's code of conduct. Chakaravarthy was fined 25 percent of his match fee for an on-field gesture directed at Chennai Super Kings batsman Dewald Brewis, which earned him a demerit point.

The game, held at Eden Gardens, saw CSK secure a victory by two wickets, ending KKR's chances of entering the playoffs. Despite his team's loss, Chakaravarthy managed to claim two important wickets, demonstrating his skills on the field.

While the IPL's statement did not detail the incident, it was understood that Chakaravarthy's actions after Brewis' dismissal were considered provocative. KKR will continue their campaign with upcoming matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru away from home.
