The Rajasthan Royals have reinforced their squad by signing South African fast bowler Nandre Burger as a replacement for Sandeep Sharma, who has been sidelined with a finger injury for the rest of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Prior to his injury, Sandeep Sharma featured in 10 matches for the Royals this season, capturing nine wickets. With an IPL career spanning 137 matches, Sharma has amassed an impressive 146 wickets, making him one of the league's underrated talents. He achieves an average of 27.87, with his best bowling figures standing at 5/18.
Having previously donned the Royals jersey in the 2024 IPL season, Burger makes his return to the team. The Proteas pacer was initially picked up for his base price but had since gone unsold ahead of the 2025 season.
