The Indian women's golf team, spearheaded by Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs, returns to the competitive circuit at the Aramco Korea Championship after a three-week hiatus. Joining them on this comeback are Tvesa Malik and the promising rookie Avani Prashanth. The tournament is slated to commence this Friday at the New Korea Country Club for the second consecutive year.
Diksha has been in remarkable form, aiming to build on her momentum after securing Top-10 finishes in her last two appearances at T-9 in the SA Women's Open and T-8 at the Joburg Open. Earlier in the season, she achieved a runner-up finish at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco and currently ranks fifth on the LET Order of Merit. In six starts, Diksha has three Top-10 finishes and has missed just one cut.
Karnataka talents Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth have shown resilience on the Hero Women's Pro Tour. Pranavi has achieved four cuts in five starts, including two Top-15 finishes, ranking 37th on the Order of Merit. Avani, making her mark as a rookie, has made four cuts with two Top-20 results, placing her 38th on the Merit list.
Meanwhile, Tvesa Malik seeks a turnaround after making just one cut in four starts and currently stands at 134th. All four players are keen to establish a strong footing ahead of the Women's Indian Open later this year.
The seventh event of the 2025 global schedule draws 104 players from 33 nations, competing in Team and Individual events with a total prize fund of USD 2,000,000. The Individual competition offers USD 1.5 million, while USD 500,000 is allocated for the Team event. World No. 8 Hyo Joo Kim leads the roster on home turf, alongside major champions Sung Hyun Park and USA's Danielle Kang, the reigning team event captain.
The field of 104 will be split into 26 teams, with one comprising four South Korean amateurs, and the remaining composed of four professionals each. Post a 36-hole cut, the top 60 players focus solely on the Individual competition for the final day. (ANI)
