In a surprising turn of events, India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue his association with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), retracting his recent application for a No Objection Certificate to switch allegiance to Goa.
Back in April, Jaiswal had shocked the cricketing fraternity by seeking a move to Goa, a request promptly approved by the MCA. The young player has now sent an email to the MCA stating his availability to represent Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season.
Jaiswal mentioned that his family's plans to relocate to Goa had changed, prompting him to withdraw the NOC. Notably, he had not yet submitted the NOC to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or to the Goa Cricket Association, despite expectations that he would lead Goa's team following their promotion to the Elite division in the 2025-26 season.
