Inter Kashi Wins Appeal at CAS in I-League Dispute with AIFF

In a dramatic turn of events, Inter Kashi emerged victorious in their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The Varanasi-based club had been previously docked three points in a contested I-League match against Namdhari FC due to allegations of fielding an ineligible player.
The CAS ruling, however, does not immediately grant Inter Kashi the coveted I-League title. The decision reaffirms the ruling initially issued by the AIFF Disciplinary Committee, offering a glimmer of hope for Inter Kashi as they continue their battle against the AIFF's former verdict in the world's apex sports tribunal.
Inter Kashi has one more appeal pending with CAS, which could ultimately determine the I-League champions for the 2024-25 season. Although Churchill Brothers currently hold the title with 42 points, a win in the second appeal could see Inter Kashi level or surpass this tally.
