In a heartfelt appeal on International Yoga Day, Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, encouraged the global community to incorporate yoga into daily life for better health. Celebrating the occasion, he emphasized that yoga is a cultural cornerstone that should be a routine part of healthy living.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the message further at the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Visakhapatnam, suggesting that yoga could serve as a global policy for inner peace. Addressing the gathering, he urged nations to consider yoga not only as a personal or cultural pursuit but as a powerful unifying force for humanity.
During his speech, Modi called for making yoga a global responsibility, linking it to the principle of collective well-being. Against the picturesque backdrop of the Visakhapatnam coastline, the event saw participation from Indian Navy personnel and yoga enthusiasts from Andhra Pradesh. The celebration marked the 11th year since the UN designated June 21 as International Yoga Day, a proposal originally championed by India in 2014.
