Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Axar Patel reunited in Barbados to celebrate the one-year anniversary of India's remarkable T20 World Cup victory in 2024. The match, held on June 29, marked India's first T20 World Cup win in 17 years, ending a long-standing drought for the Indian cricket team.

On Instagram, Pant shared a triumphant image of himself hoisting the coveted trophy, simply captioning it "What a moment." Meanwhile, Axar posted a celebratory video capturing the exuberance of the victory, reminiscing, "One year ago, we lived the dream." The thrilling contest between India and South Africa, both undefeated heading into the final, concluded with Team India strategically opting to let South Africa chase.

India's innings had a rocky start at 34/3, but a vital partnership between Virat Kohli and Axar Patel steadied the ship. Kohli's impeccable performance saw him score a crucial 76 runs, setting a challenging total of 176/7. Despite a threatening phase from South African players Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen, India's bowling attack, led by Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh, subdued the South African batting line-up to clinch a narrow seven-run victory.

The match's decisive moment featured Suryakumar Yadav's agile fielding, which played a pivotal role in sealing the win. In a dramatic fashion, he secured a crucial catch, effectively putting an end to South Africa's ambitions and leading India to break its 17-year ICC Trophy hiatus. This momentous win remains a significant milestone in Indian cricket history. (ANI)
