In a stunning display of skill and strategy, the Chennai Bulls claimed the first-ever championship of the Rugby Premier League by defeating the Delhi Redz 41-0 at the Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex in Mumbai. The Bulls, known for their aggressive playstyle, established the largest margin of victory this season.
Their dominance was evident from the start as Vaafauese Maliko initiated the scoring, followed by Filipe Sauturaga's conversion. Joseva Talacolo and Terry Kennedy further extended the Bulls' lead, with Kennedy scoring twice. By halftime, Chennai was comfortably ahead at 24-0, demonstrating their superiority over the shell-shocked Redz.
After the break, Chennai maintained their pressure with Shanawaz Ahmed scoring another try, set up by Kennedy. Mohammed Ashique sealed the emphatic win with two more tries. Earlier, the Hyderabad Heroes earned third place by rallying to defeat the Bengaluru Bravehearts 17-12, securing a remarkable finish to the inaugural season.
