Mickey Arthur, the former head coach of Pakistan's national cricket team, will oversee Rangpur Riders' title defence in the upcoming Global Super League. Despite not being physically present in Guyana where the tournament will be held, Arthur plans to fulfill his duties remotely from Derbyshire.
Rangpur will attempt to retain their crown as they enter the tournament scheduled to begin on July 10. The other participating teams include Dubai Capitals, Central Stags, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Hobart Hurricanes. Greg Smith has been appointed to manage the team on-site under Arthur's direction.
Shanian Taneem, Rangpur Riders' team director, assured that Arthur's absence would not affect the team's performance as he will stay connected digitally. Veteran players like Nurul Hasan and overseas stars such as Kyle Mayers and Tabraiz Shamsi bolster the squad. Notably, Shakib Al Hasan, a valuable player, was excluded from the squad due to the current political situation.
