India's young badminton prodigies, Tanvi Sharma and Vennala Kalagotla, have continued to impress at the prestigious Badminton Asia Juniors Individual Championships 2025, progressing to the semifinals in Solo, Indonesia, the Badminton Association of India announced.
Tanvi Sharma, the tournament's second seed, showcased her exceptional form by dispatching Indonesia's fifth-seed Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan in straight games, 21-19, 21-14, within a brief 35-minute showdown. Meanwhile, Vennala Kalagotla triumphed in a nail-biting 58-minute contest against Thailand's Janyaporn Meepanthong, clinching victory with scores of 21-18, 17-21, 21-17.
As the semifinals loom, both Indian stars are set to face formidable Chinese opponents: Tanvi against Yin Yi Qing, and Vennala against Liu Si Ya. The tournament runs from July 18 to 27, serving as an important precursor to the BWF Junior World Championships slated later this year in Guwahati.
