In a remarkable display of speed and skill, Kalle Rovanpera clinched victory at Rally Finland, setting a new record as the fastest in world championship history. His victory, achieved at an average speed of 129.95kph, marked the first time a Finnish driver has won this home event in eight years, solidifying Rovanpera's position in the race for the championship title.

Toyota dominated the event, sweeping the top five positions with Rovanpera leading, followed by teammate Takamoto Katsuta. Sebastien Ogier, an eight-time world champion, finished third. This performance also marked only the second occasion in world championship history that a manufacturer has achieved such a feat, a record previously held by Lancia in Portugal in 1990.

Despite his victory, Rovanpera remains three points behind Elfyn Evans in the overall standings after nine of the fourteen rounds. The rally circuit now shifts to Paraguay at the end of August, as the championship race heats up.
