John Higgins Leads New Era for Snooker Players' Voices

Four-time world snooker champion John Higgins has taken on a new role as Director and Chairman of the Professional Snooker Players Association (PSPA). This newly-formed independent players' body aims to provide a stronger voice for snooker players in the sport's commercial and governance decisions.

The PSPA includes prominent players like Judd Trump, Kyren Wilson, and Mark Selby on its board, with Ronnie O'Sullivan, Ding Junhui, and Xiao Guodong among its members. The association emerged from players' concerns about their limited influence in the commercial direction and governance of snooker.

Higgins emphasized the importance of a fair and independent players' association, aiming for collaboration with snooker's governing entities like the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. The focus is to ensure players receive comprehensive support while maintaining independence in commercial matters.
