The Ladakh Marathon is set to make history with its 12th edition from September 11-14, boasting the largest field yet with over 6,600 runners from 30 countries. Recognized globally as the highest AIMS-certified marathon, this event will feature six races, ranging from a 5 km community run to two ultramarathons: the 72 km Khardung La Challenge and the 122 km Silk Route Ultra.

Participants will navigate stunning yet challenging landscapes, racing beside the Indus River, across high-altitude passes like Khardung La and Nubra, and marveling at the breathtaking Himalayan vistas. The lineup includes the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 11.2 km run, and the "Run Ladakh for Fun" 5 km, catering to runners of all skill levels eager to take on one of the world's most formidable marathons.

Starting September 11, the Silk Route Ultra sends athletes on a grueling 122 km journey from Kyagar Village at 10,000 ft to Leh Market. On September 12, approximately 300 competitors will face the Khardung La Challenge, encompassing a 72 km route featuring over 60 km above 13,000 ft. All runners must acclimatize to the high altitudes, arriving at least a week in advance. The event celebrates sustainability with its "Leave Only Footprints Behind" motto, eliminating single-use plastics and managing waste efficiently.
