A formal complaint has been lodged against former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram for his alleged association with an online gambling platform, according to an official statement on Tuesday. The complaint was filed by Muhammad Fiaz with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore, demanding legal action against Akram for purportedly promoting a gambling app.

Fiaz claims that Akram, the illustrious former fast bowler, is linked to an international betting app named Baji, serving as its brand ambassador. He pointed to a promotional poster and video clip featuring Akram, which have piqued the interest of general users on social media, as evidence.

The NCCIA has confirmed receiving the complaint against Akram for his alleged role as brand ambassador for the foreign betting app. An official stated, "We will take action against him if the allegations are verified." Notably, Akram has not responded publicly to the accusations. In a related incident, popular TikToker and YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, was arrested on similar charges linked to the app.
