The highly anticipated Odisha Pro T20 League, hosted by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), officially commenced at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Inaugurating the event, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized its role as a catalyst for discovering and nurturing young cricketing talent within the state.

The league's primary objective is to promote emerging sports talent in Odisha, reflecting the government's dedication to enhancing sports infrastructure and opportunity, according to Majhi. Featuring six teams and a total of 18 matches, the tournament enlisted the support of esteemed cricketers Irfan Pathan and Debashish Mohanty as its ambassadors.

Pathan, a prominent figure in Indian cricket, praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to become a pivotal platform for young cricketers. 'This tournament offers numerous opportunities for budding talents and could significantly boost Odisha cricket's standing,' Pathan noted. The league runs from Sept 17 to 26, with matches almost daily.
