India's presence at the World Para Athletics Championships was bolstered by the performances of Dharambir Nain and Atul Kaushik, who clinched silver and bronze medals respectively. Dharambir, a reigning Paralympic champion, showcased his prowess in the men's Club Throw F51 event with an impressive 29.71m throw, securing a silver medal, while Atul Kaushik added to India's tally with a bronze in the men's discus throw F57 category, registering a 45.61m effort.
Despite their achievements, young athlete Haney experienced heartbreak in the men's discus throw F37 final. Initially leading with a 51.22m throw, Haney was edged out of the podium places in a nail-biting finish. This day's results saw India slipping to seventh place in the overall medal standings.
