In a challenging outing for the Indian contingent at the Asian Boxing U-17 Championships 2026, Lakshay Phogat emerged as the sole finalist for India. Competing in the 75kg category, Phogat delivered a commanding performance against Korea's Seungmin Lee, winning unanimously with a 5:0 decision.

However, the semifinals proved tough for other Indian competitors. Narendra Nella, fighting in the 46kg class, was defeated 0:5 by Uzbekistan's Abdulloh Nuraliev. Meanwhile, Yash Yadav faced a challenging bout in the 50kg category, losing 1:4 to Mongolia's Suld Usukhbaatar. Nivesh Pal, fighting in the 54kg category, also experienced defeat, being bested 0:5 by Uzbekistan's Abdulbosit Yursunboev.

Naman, competing in the 70kg category, participated in a closely contested battle but ultimately fell short with a 2:3 loss against Abduvohid Abdumajidov of Uzbekistan. Despite their efforts, the medals for the Indian team were limited to a single coveted spot in the finals, secured by Lakshay Phogat.
