Bengaluru's Priya Kumari delivered an impressive performance at the IGU Pune Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship, securing both the overall and Category 'A' titles. The final day bore witness to intense competition as Priya's decisive two-putt under pressure ensured her victory in a gripping playoff against Rajasthan's Ojaswini Saraswat.
Initially holding a five-shot lead, Priya's advantage dwindled following a misstep that saw her drop a double-bogey on the ninth hole. Ojaswini capitalized, drawing level and briefly taking the lead with a birdie on the 17th. Unaware of the lead change, Priya birdied the 18th to force a playoff, where she ultimately claimed victory.
Despite narrowly missing out on the top spot, Ojaswini emerged victorious in Category 'B', showcasing her talent with a commanding win. Meanwhile, Karnataka's Ridhima Kapoor decisively won in Category 'C', demonstrating the depth of young golfing talent at the event held at the prestigious Oxford Golf Resort.
