In the latest round of Roland-Garros, Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud delivered commanding performances, reinforcing their status as formidable contenders. Zverev, the World No. 3, faced off against Czech player Tomas Machac, securing his win in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. The match was notably hampered by Machac's injury, which left him struggling with a left foot issue.

Despite Machac's visible discomfort, he chose to continue, allowing Zverev to capitalize on the situation with strategic shot-making. Zverev's dominance was evident as he fired 18 aces and 41 winners, wrapping up the match in just over two hours. This victory comes after his straightforward win against Benjamin Bonzi, keeping him in good form as he progresses through the tournament.

Meanwhile, Casper Ruud showcased his skill on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, defeating Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Having survived a grueling five-setter in the opening round, Ruud appeared composed and resilient, saving all seven break points against him while breaking Medjedovic's serve four times. Ruud now faces a challenge against American Tommy Paul in the next round.
