Reflecting on the IPL final loss, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill lamented the lack of momentum in their innings after losing early wickets. Gill admitted that reaching a target of 180 to 190 could have been competitive against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who chased down the target with ease.
Gill, along with Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, struggled to build significant scores, which left the middle-order exposed, resulting in a total of only 155 for 8. Virat Kohli's commanding 75 not out ensured RCB secured victory in just 18 overs.
Gill noted the importance of early breakthroughs in the powerplay but conceded too many runs too quickly. Despite the final outcome, Gill praised his team's bowling throughout the tournament, indicating their determination and growth, and highlighting the need for improvements moving forward.
