Panaji, May 9 (PIT) - Goa is on the brink of a technological transformation as its inaugural electronic manufacturing cluster in Tuem, North Goa, approaches completion. Officials anticipate it will draw substantial investments to the coastal state.

Kabir Shirgaonkar, director of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, emphasized the cluster's alignment with India's Viksit Bharat 2047 goal. As part of the Narendra Modi government's vision to position India as a global hub for electronics manufacturing, the zone spans over 5,97,125 square meters along the Goa-Mumbai National Highway. Shirgaonkar highlighted the potential for innovation and job creation, with the state offering incentives for manufacturers.

A committee has also streamlined approvals, and efforts are underway to develop a skilled workforce. Notably, plots have already been allocated to companies, and the project invites advancements in drone technology, additive manufacturing, and electric vehicle infrastructure. Prominent local investor Narayan Naik echoed the project's potential, emphasizing job opportunities for local youth.
