The India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) has emphasized the crucial role of industrial electronics in reaching India's ambitious USD 500 billion electronics manufacturing target by 2030-31. The body released a statement highlighting that the future of India's electronics sector not only hinges on producing high-tech products but also on creating the automation tools that will revolutionize factories, smart cities, and transportation networks across the country.

Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo described industrial electronics as a national strategic priority, essential for advanced manufacturing and high-skilled employment opportunities. He stressed the importance of leadership in industrial automation, suggesting that India must enhance its capabilities in embedded systems, robotics, and AI to attain genuine manufacturing leadership.

The ICEA is actively working with government and industry leaders to establish a dedicated policy for industrial electronics. The Steering Committee on Industrial Electronics and Infrastructure includes top executives from Delta Electronics, Infineon Technologies, and others, aiming to position India as a global hub for industrial electronics design and manufacturing.
