Cosmobilis in Talks to Acquire WRC Commercial Rights
Cosmobilis is negotiating to acquire the commercial rights to the World Rally Championship from current holders Red Bull and KW25. A decision on the deal, expected to be worth under 500 million euros, might be announced in the summer. Eric Boullier leads the bid for Cosmobilis.
French automotive group Cosmobilis is in discussions to secure the commercial rights to the World Rally Championship (WRC), according to sources close to the matter.
The negotiations follow an auction conducted by existing rights holders Red Bull and the German investment firm KW25. A finalized deal, valued at less than 500 million euros, could be revealed by the summer, contingent on successful negotiations and financing.
Eric Boullier, co-founder and CEO of Cosmobilis' Circle unit, is spearheading the acquisition effort. With WRC competitions spanning four continents and 14 rounds this year, the move represents a significant step for Cosmobilis in the world of motorsports.
