A devastating accident has occurred in Central Java, Indonesia, where a dump truck collided with a minibus on a downhill road, tragically killing 11 kindergarten teachers, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The truck, heavily loaded with construction materials, struck the minibus and continued on its path of destruction until it crashed into a house in Kalijambe village, situated in Purworejo district. The group of teachers, hailing from Magelang district, was en route to a funeral in Purworejo district when the tragedy struck, as reported by the local disaster management agency.

Purworejo police chief Andry Agustiano stated that the truck's loss of control led to the catastrophic collision. An investigation is underway as authorities seek to understand the sequence of events that led to this disaster. Meanwhile, ambulances swiftly transported the deceased and the injured, including the truck driver and a local homeowner, to a nearby medical facility. Road safety remains a pressing concern in Indonesia, with recent similar incidents pointing to ongoing safety and infrastructure challenges.
