A local train heading for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai overshot a platform at Thansit station in Thane district on Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
The occurrence transpired on the Central Railway route in Shahapur taluka around 4:10 PM. An inquiry is set to investigate the incident.
Six coaches went beyond the platform on the Kasara-Kalyan section. The train was held for eight minutes before heading to Kalyan. No injuries or disruptions were reported, and the train crew was changed in Kalyan, officials confirmed.
