In a significant policy change, Delhi's eateries no longer need a 'no-objection' certificate from the police. This decision was announced by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and has been welcomed by the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI).
This policy shift is aimed at reducing administrative burdens and improving the ease of business operations in the capital's F&B sector. Licensing responsibilities will now lie with local bodies, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the New Delhi Municipal Council.
The NRAI believes that this move will not only enhance the ease of doing business but also stimulate investment and entrepreneurship, particularly benefiting small and medium-sized enterprises.
