A tragic accident unfolded near the Jamuniya forest in Deoghar on Tuesday, resulting in multiple fatalities. The incident involved a collision between a 32-seater bus carrying Kanwariyas and a truck loaded with gas cylinders at around 4:30 a.m.
According to Inspector General (Dumka Zone) Shailendra Kumar Sinha, the crash led to at least five deaths initially, but Traffic Deputy SP Laxman Prasad later reported that the death toll had risen to nine. Numerous others were injured, with the likelihood of casualties increasing due to the severe condition of some victims.
The district administration has been activated to manage the situation, ensuring that the injured are transported promptly to local hospitals and primary health centers for treatment. The community remains on high alert as the authorities coordinate rescue and medical efforts.
