Hyundai Drives Forward: India's Resilient Landscape Boosts Auto Growth

In 2025-26, HMIL projects domestic sales growth in line with industry estimates and 7-8% growth in exports. In the face of global disruptions and macroeconomic uncertainties, India's economic resilience is proving beneficial for consumption-driven sectors like the automotive industry. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Managing Director Unsoo Kim asserts that these factors support a favorable landscape for the industry's recovery.
Kim stated that HMIL aligns its domestic sales growth with industry projections, anticipating a modest increase and a more significant 7-8% growth in exports by 2025-26. The company sold 7,62,052 units in 2024-25, showcasing strong demand in both domestic and international markets.
The introduction of Hyundai's Genesis luxury brand in the Indian market marks a strategic expansion. Additionally, production enhancements focus on increased manufacturing capacity with a new facility in Pune aimed at producing over one million units annually by FY 2025-26.
