Train services along the Jammu-Pathankot rail line have been disrupted due to a cloudburst in Kathua district, causing water levels to rise dangerously over bridge number 43 between Kathua and Budhi.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, explained that up-line train services have been temporarily halted and rerouted through the down line to ensure passenger safety.
The cloudburst resulted in fatalities, with at least seven deaths and five injuries reported, compounding recent weather-related tragedies in the region, including a deadly flash flood in Kishtwar.
