The 4th Northeast Export Promotional Meet, hosted on Tuesday, brought together policymakers, diplomats, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to enhance trade ties between India's Northeast and neighboring Southeast Asian nations.
Organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) with support from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the meet highlighted the strategic significance of the Northeast as a trade corridor.
Senior officials, including MEA's A Ajay Kumar and DGFT's Ajay Kumar Srivastava, underscored the central government's commitment to improving infrastructure, market access, and trade facilitation, aligning with India's Act East Policy. The event also featured B2B interactions and sessions on export strategies, involving delegates from Thailand, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
