Kolkata's residential property market is booming, with sales in August climbing 15% compared to the same month last year. This surge, reported by real estate consultancy Knight Frank India, highlights the sale of 6,196 properties, demonstrating the region's strong market momentum.

Registrations reached an impressive 33% increase since July, spurred by the festive season and a mix of fresh sales and resales, as confirmed by the state's Directorate of Registrations and Stamps Revenue. The year-to-date figures are equally telling, with 41,440 apartments registered from January to August, marking a significant 37% year-on-year rise.

Knight Frank India CMD, Shishir Baijal, emphasized the city's trend towards premiumisation, noting that buyers are increasingly pursuing larger homes amid better connectivity and favorable financing conditions. With strong signs pointing to sustained demand, the outlook for the remainder of 2025 remains optimistic.
