In an era marked by global uncertainties and mounting protectionism, China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are advancing their economic integration efforts. This is underlined by the successful conclusion of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 upgrade negotiations, announced in May, which aims to strengthen economic ties.
The upgraded agreement covers new areas such as the digital economy, green development, and supply chain connectivity, following more than two years of negotiations. The China-ASEAN Expo, organized by the Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau and opening on September 17, is set to showcase the new momentum and potential for cooperation, drawing over 3,200 exhibitors from 60 countries.
Highlighting the event is a 10,000-square-meter AI pavilion and zones dedicated to green technologies and new energy vehicles. These sectors are poised for growth in China-ASEAN cooperation, boosted by advances in manufacturing and digital infrastructure. China's 5G investments are extensive, empowering AI collaborations with ASEAN nations, aimed at securing a robust, cooperative future in trade and technology.
