South Korea's retail giant, Lotte Shopping Co. Ltd., unveiled its Transformation 2.0 strategy during the 2025 CEO IR Day event in Singapore, signaling its commitment to expanding in Southeast Asia and driving AI innovation. The event attracted numerous institutional investors and analysts at The Westin Singapore on September 17, following similar gatherings in Seoul and Hong Kong.

Vice Chairman and Group CEO Samuel Sanghyun Kim highlighted plans for substantial growth, focusing on Lotte Shopping's vision to become the preferred shopping destination globally. With over 14,000 stores, the company aims to tap into the burgeoning markets of Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore as part of its strategic push to achieve KRW 20.3 trillion in revenue by 2030.

The ambitious overseas growth strategy saw revenue surging by 5.1% in 2024, with Southeast Asia contributing significantly. Lotte Shopping's innovative steps include the rollout of LOTTE Mart EXPRESS formats and building an International Headquarters (iHQ) in Singapore to centralize strategic operations, particularly targeting AI-driven retail solutions and partnerships across the region.
