Services on Kolkata's Metro Railway Green Line were temporarily halted during peak hours due to a technical snag on Thursday. Officials reported that truncated services ran for half an hour on the Howrah Maidan-Salt Lake Sector V corridor before engineers resolved the issue.
The disruption marked the second consecutive day of service interruptions on the Green Line. Service was partially resumed at 11 am after the issues were promptly addressed by engineering teams.
Since its full operational launch on August 22, the 16.6-km Green Line has seen heavy commuter traffic, becoming a vital corridor for locals. The line had an estimated 2.17 lakh passengers using the service on a single day in September, highlighting its importance.
