Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday supervised the emergency response to a devastating cloudburst in Chamoli district that caused widespread damage and impacted over 200 individuals in Raipur and Mussoorie assembly constituencies. Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of relief and rescue efforts underway in the hardest-hit areas.
The review, conducted from Dehradun's Emergency Operations Centre, followed intense rainfall that inundated numerous parts of the state. Addressing the media, CM Dhami shared updates, confirming that at least 35 homes sustained damage and 20 individuals were injured, while 14 remain missing, after the calamity struck late Wednesday night.
Dhami reported that disaster response teams, including the NDRF and SDRF, have mobilized to secure affected regions. He emphasized the prioritization of road repairs and the restoration of key services. Authorities remain vigilant, with the Chief Minister urging the public to heed weather forecasts during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra.
