Fire Incident Disrupts Aurobindo Pharma's Production Temporarily

A fire accident at Aurobindo Pharma's Unit-IV of APL Healthcare in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, has temporarily disrupted production. The incident, which occurred on September 18, 2025, resulted from a short circuit in the granulation area.

The fire affected two of the 19 production lines, causing a temporary halt estimated to impact about 3% of the unit's monthly capacity. Swift action from the in-house fire hydrant team, supported by external fire tenders, ensured control over the situation with no casualties reported.

Aurobindo Pharma has initiated refurbishment and restoration efforts, expecting operations to resume within weeks. The company has stated that there is no significant financial or operational impact from the incident, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure employee safety and asset protection.
