Telangana is ready to implement the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate rationalisation as announced by K Haritha, the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. The necessary field-level sensitisation has been completed to ensure a smooth roll-out.
While the Commissioner assured there are no current technical issues, any glitches may only be revealed next month as traders and taxpayers begin filing their returns. Notifications aligning with the council's decisions have been issued to accommodate changes in goods and services taxation.
Despite concerns regarding potential annual revenue losses of approximately Rs 7,000 crore, as stated by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the state is committed to implementing the revised GST structure, featuring only two slabs of 5 and 18 percent.
