After a hiatus of over four years, direct flights between India and China are set to resume, with IndiGo restarting its services from Kolkata to Guangzhou on October 26.
The civil aviation ministry announced on Thursday that the resumption of air services comes after continuous technical-level discussions aimed at normalizing bilateral relations.
Initially halted in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions, flights are expected to enhance people-to-people exchanges and bolster economic ties.
