The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) took a proactive stance in the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' (SHS) campaign, observed nationwide across various government bodies from September 17 to October 2. According to an official release, the initiative aimed to enhance cleanliness, improve hygiene, and raise awareness among government personnel.
Leading by example, MoPA's Secretary, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, initiated the campaign by administering the Swachhata Pledge to officers and staff, underscoring an ongoing commitment to cleanliness beyond the written code. Additional Secretary Satya Prakash outlined a detailed action plan, which included special cleanliness campaigns, Shramdaan activities, senior officers' inspections, and the Swachh Air initiative with indoor plant arrangements provided by CPWD (Horticulture).
Additionally, the campaign incorporated creative engagement activities, including a Rangoli-making competition and health checkups for Safai Mitras. On September 25, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju led the 'Ek Ghanta - Ek Din - Ek Saath Shramdaan' event at Jain Happy School, encouraging participants to integrate cleanliness into their daily lives. The campaign concluded with a ceremony to honor Safai Mitras and reward Rangoli competition winners, reaffirming MoPA's dedication to sustaining the Swachh Bharat vision year-round.
