The Delhi-Kathmandu international bus service, managed by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), is back in operation, officials announced on Friday. The service was previously suspended amidst turmoil in Nepal.

An official reported that the bus service resumed last month following the stabilization of the situation in Nepal. The service was initially halted on September 10 due to political unrest, leaving a bus stranded in the neighboring country. With the safe return of the bus and improved conditions, services have been restarted.

The bus service remains popular as commuter numbers have returned to normal levels post-resumption. The route covers 1,167 kilometers, costing passengers Rs 2,800, with DTC and Nepal's Manjushree Yatayat sharing responsibilities throughout the week. Diesel buses currently dominate the route, with CNG or electric alternatives still unavailable.
