The world is embracing a transformative shift towards a circular economy, where waste is no longer waste but an asset, said Union Minister Jitendra Singh.
Speaking at the Global Symposium and Awards on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy, Singh revealed that the Indian government has reaped over Rs 4,000 crore from scrap, including e-waste, as part of its Swachhata campaign.
He described the circular economy model, powered by recycling and biotech innovations, as critical to future industrial growth. Materials, once discarded, are finding new life as resources for roads and biofuels, heralding the next industrial revolution.
