The employees of Telangana Road Transport Corporation (RTC) have declared an indefinite strike starting April 22, following failed discussions with government officials. The talks, which aimed to address the workers' grievances, reached a standstill prompting the Joint Action Committee (JAC) to push for immediate action.
The core demands of the RTC staff include a pending wage revision and the merger of the Corporation with the state government. According to JAC leaders, the panel formed for negotiations seemed more focused on delaying the strike, rather than providing solutions to the employees' problems.
With unresolved issues lingering, tensions have escalated as employees seek acknowledgment and action from the government regarding their longstanding demands. The outcome remains uncertain as both sides prepare for the impending strike.
