The Union Ministry of Mines initiated a landmark second tranche of e-auction for 12 limestone blocks in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, promising to transform the region's mineral development landscape. The event, marked by the launch from Ministry Secretary Piyush Goyal, aims at refining business transparency in the sector.
Goyal emphasized extensive reforms for ease of doing business, underlining the area's vast mineral wealth. This auction moves Jammu and Kashmir closer to the visions of Viksit Bharat, self-reliance, and economic advancement through industrial empowerment and employment.
The blocks available span Anantnag, Rajouri, and Poonch, categorized under G3 and G4 stages of the UN Framework Classification, stirring interest from the cement and infrastructure sectors. Bidding details and further plans were discussed, underscoring the initiative's strong focus on optimal resource utilization.
