In a tragic incident on the Bundelkhand Expressway, an SUV collided with a stationary truck, leaving four family members dead and one seriously injured. The accident occurred near Hathaura village around 9 am on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal reported that the victims were residents of Ramgarh village in Azamgarh district. They were returning to Kabarai town in Mahoba district when their SUV slammed into the parked truck. Among the deceased were Ajit, his mother, grandmother, and aunt. A 16-year-old girl, Riya, sustained critical injuries and has been referred for advanced treatment in Kanpur.
Preliminary investigations suggest driver fatigue as a possible cause, with Ajit likely dozing off at the wheel. The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case against the truck driver.
